Hard Cider Tour Near Hurds Family Farm

There are many great places making unique hard ciders and craft beers in the Hudson Valley. Here are just a few that you might want to visit on your own personal cider tour. Use our google map to help you plan your adventure. Of course we recommend having a designated driver or hiring someone to drive you. Make sure to check current hours of operation for the date of your visits.


Family run and off the beaten path with great views of the Gunks especially at sunset. They make their own cider, beer and craft drinks from the cider. Dog Friendly with Close Parking. You could bring kids, but the only 2 activities are corn hole and a large connect 4 game. Make sure you are not hungry as there are limited bag snack options. Open F 3-9, S 12-9 & Su 12-5


A speak easy feel with the main entrance into an old barn where you go down an old set of stairs into the basement to find the bar and crowds. Expect to be served by someone in the family while enjoying live music. They make their own beer, have local cider on tap and serve other cocktails. Dog Friendly, tricky parking. Once again you could bring the kids, but this is definitely more for adults of all ages. Their snack has limited choices, but you might want to order them all. Creative options made with local ingredients will make your mouth water. There are many different nooks where you can spend time with friends playing board games, taking photos or enjoying the fresh air. Open S & Su 3-7.



Featured in our Visit Milton Blog Post. A thoughtfully designed tap room with 2 bars for serving and comfortable outside seating. Best Parking, Dog Friendly. You could bring the kids, but bring your own entertainment. You will have an up close and birds eye view of where the cider is made, stored and bottled. The cider is made by two best friends with apples grown on their family farm. Your designated driver can enjoy a can of their sparkling cider. If you are there on a cooler evening you can sit around their beautiful gas fire pit. Open S 12-7 and Su 12-6.


A pretty location out in the county in upstate NY. Definitely plan on eating when you make this stop. The pizzas are delicious, especially the Margherita with house made pesto. They also serve some other sandwiches and aps to accompany your drinks. There are numerous options of wine and cider made with Weed grown fruit. Some more unique options include their apple cider sangria and frozen wine drinks. Plenty of seating outside where you can enjoy live music. Dog Friendly and Kid Friendly with plenty of playground time structures for them to play on. The parking is OK with just a short walk uphill. Open S & Su 11:30-5.



A very popular destination with many familiar cider varieties and plenty of merchandise to purchase. FREE entry to the self guided museum includes a token for a tasting flight of 3. Warning on the weekends there is only one option for your flight, but on other days you can be a bit more choosey. Great music, sometimes live, can be enjoyed inside the tasting room or outside at one of the many tables. If you are hungry a taco food truck is located in the parking lot. Just outside the tasting room you can purchase popcorn or made to order apple cider donuts made with their secret recipe. Warning, the tree house tours are not included. There is a security guard onsite and you are only allowed to get near and go in if you have paid $20 on weekends for the brewery tour at 12, 2, or 4PM. Open W, Th, Su 12-6 and F, S 12-8.

A yummy restaurant near Angry Orchard and just south of Gardiner, NY and Hurds Family Farm. Limited indoor and outdoor seating. Unique owl inspired artwork throughout the restaurant adds much charm to this old post office building. Try their fried olives, arugula salad, mac n cheese and burgers made with local grass fed beef. Open W, Th 5-10, F 4-11, S 11-11, Su 11-9.



Meet out neighbors at the home farm, Dirk & Elizabeth, who are serving up some great German Inspired dishes with beautiful orchard views under their new pavilion. If you have your dog sit in the beer garden as featured in our Pamper Your Pooch blog post. The perfect spot for gluten free or vegan diners or anyone looking for a delicious burger on a house made pretzel roll, baked fresh daily. Kick the keg on Mondays, they have a good selection of local beer, cider and cocktails available. Open every day except Tu from 11-9ish.


Located in Gardiner, NY with a variety of Belgium Inspired Craft Beers. Just off the rail trail if you want to add a bike ride in to your journey. They do offer limited options of snacks like cheese plates. Open F, S, Su 3-7.


Small batch beers made by best friends with a passion for creating unique flawless flavors. Tons of games to play with friends in a semi refinished old building. Some members of your party may want to try one of their non-alcoholic, local, mixed in front of you craft sodas. Located in the Hamlet of Highland. Open F 5-11, S 12-11 and Su 12-6.


A pretty location not to far from the Thruway in New Paltz. Dog Friendly with close parking. Grab a taste of some of their apple ciders and make your way outback to the café. Enjoy pizza or a burger while looking out at a pond. Plenty of outdoor covered seating. There are some board games that may keep kids entertained for a bit. Open Th 12-6, F 12-7, S & Su 11-7

It is hard to do everything at our farm in one fall day, so we suggest spending the night in town to do one day at our farm and one day on a local cider tour in September or October. There are plenty of local accommodations that could fit any budget. Here are just a few suggestions in New Paltz Mohonk Mountain House, Hampton Inn, Americas Best Value, New Paltz Hostile, or Air B&B. Another fun place, especially if traveling with kids, in Summer or Fall is Yogi Bear's Jelly Stone Camp Resort.
